Lexicon Service And Repair

*PREVENTITIVE MAINTANENCE:
A service we offer is preventative maintenance. For the Lexicon products that have batteries, they are at the end of their life cycle and are vulnerable to leakage if not changed the leaking can cause costly repairs to your pc board.

Most vintage Lexicon pc boards have a condition where left over flux is creeping around the pc boards which can cause shorts or erratic operation, as part of the preventive maintenance we clean the pc board best we can of all left over flux.

Also after all the years especially if you have moved the units around allot due to vibration etc. solder joints on components are starting to fail. This can also cause erratic operation or even give error codes. We use a high powered stereoscopic scope to inspect your solder joints and any we find questionable we re-solder.

We also make sure all your chips a still fully seated in their sockets. This service also includes a new back up battery replacement. Preventative maintenance can help keep your Lexicon unit running in tip top shape.

*REPAIR WORK:
In the event your having problems with your Lexicon product, we ask that you send us an email with a description of your problem. The information should include what is working and what is not working, the more detail you can give the better we may be able to help you and maybe determine the cause of your failure.

Not all failures can be diagnosed through email, in this case if we can not determine the cause the unit would have to be sent to us to get it on the bench to trouble shoot.

*WARRANTY:
We give a 30 day warranty on all our repair work and parts we replace. If your unit should break down after service, if it is determined that break down is due to our work or a part we replaced, labor and parts will be repaired free of charge. This warranty however does not include shipping back to us, but we will cover shipping back to you. This warranty does not cover your whole unit, only work and parts done and performed by us. This warranty does not cover other failures that could arise in your unit that may fail, after all we can not predict or repair something that is not broken yet or may let go down the road. With vintage electronics, when one problem has been fixed it does not mean another component or failure could not occur. In the event it is found the failure is due to another component or problem we will contact you before making repairs, you would then be liable to pay return shipping.

*LABOR RATES:
We have a minimum charge of $30.00 + parts + shipping cost back to you. Then our labor rate is $65.00. If the diagnosis or repair goes over that we will email you for authorizing us to keep going, in this event the $30.00 minimum is applied to the first hour of diagnose/repair. Most times we can diagnose and do the repair within 1 to 2 hours.

Lexicon had many parts custom made for them to their specs. and are not available. If it turns out that the problem is a custom part we may not be able to repair the unit, if this becomes the case you would still need to pay for diagnosing. But we will give it every thing we have to bring it back to life. We will stay in contact with you to keep you informed of any issues.

*SHIPPING:
In the event you have to ship your unit to us we ask that you pack it real good as when we return your unit we will use the same box and packing. So please pack it real good to protect your unit in transit. The shipping cost will be added to the labor and parts rate. We will ship it back to you using USPS or UPS. We can receive from DHL and FEDEX but do not have drop off or pickup areas for these two carriers. We recommend UPS as the most economical way to ship larger box's out from here.

*PAYMENT:
We only accept PayPal for payment. It is a business account so even if you do not have a PayPal account you can use your credit card to make payment. After completion of work we will send you an invoice through PayPal with total due. All charges are in US dollars. We ask that you please pay within 10 days after receiving your invoice.
